So this coder threw about 500 < > signs in his program, and FLASH sees those as less than and greater than signs, meaning it won't compile. Why on earth would you ever put those around your variables? Of course it won't compile, because it thinks they are trying to compare values. This is really heating me up. Smart enough to build a physics engine, but too tarded to actually not think to NOT use the stupid LESS THAN SIGNS EVERYWHERE.

Again, I downloaded this, tried to compile and I have over 4,000 errors, ALL are from the LESS THAN SIGNS.

This made me laugh. Thanks.

But sorry, I have no idea.

For example:

vector.<v2Vector>

Flash will not compile this because it sees the "<>".

Where are you getting this code from? Box2D is a C++ engine. There are ports to other languages.

Make sense. What do I need to get started using this physics engine in flash? That is basically what I am trying to get to the bottom of :D

Yes this is the one I downloaded. I download, open up one of the examples, and try to compile. Immediately throws 27 errors. All 27 have to do with AS3 not being able to read some of the code. See picture.

'vectors' are native to Flash 10 - which you can't compile from Flash CS3. Either get CS4 (expensive) or pick up the Flash 9 port from Boris' site (not expensive!)

I believe that will actually solve all of the problems you're currently having, but I'm not sure.

I laughed again. This is the kind of post that makes working on OS so fun. The OP comes in and insults the developers and then it turns out he doesn't know some basic details about the language he's working with.

Thanks I will try that out!
