I've requested that my host provide SSH to improve security. This has lead to some downtime with the forum and will probably lead to more. Thank you for your patience.

Once I have a more secure connection to the host, I will work on bringing the Wiki back online.

As you can see the forums are back online.

Why did it take so long? I transfered to a new server and the databases were replicated. However, I could not connect to those databases (blame my host). I created a new database and copied over all the phpBB tables.

The forum is back! Yipiii !

Nicely done. Lesser admins would just have reinstalled from scratch and left it, but I appreciate the effort. There are many old threads indexed on google that I'm sure people make use of.

One of the big problems I had was the search index was greater than 50MB. The SQL admin page would time out before I got the tables uploaded.

I've now reconfigured search to use much less table space. Let me know if you see any problems with searching.

And now the Wiki is back up (and upgrade). Mediawiki seem much more fragile than phpBB.
